Community Building
January 13, 2017
Today we officially kicked off Exhibition with some fun community building activities like the hoola-hoop challenge and 'fun facts about us'. We were so lucky to have Mr. Aromin available to take a great group photo of the kids!
We also wanted to find out what the students already knew about Exhibition so we did an activity called 'What Exhibition Is...What Exhibition is not'. Students worked in small group to sort a set of statements around Exhibition. This lead to some very interesting conversations and debates about the purpose and process of Exhibition. Check out the photos!

Meet the Mentors!
Today was a very exciting day for the fourth graders. They had the opportunity to meet all the amazing people who will act as mentors during the Exhibition. The students participated in a community building exercise called "Two Truths, and a Lie". Throughout the process the students, teachers, and mentors learned a lot about each other. For example, did you know that Mrs. Smith can play the organ backwards, Mrs. Becker rides a Harley or that Mrs. Ryan is a certified scuba instructor? Ask your kids about all the new things they learned about their peers and teachers.

Today the students were very excited to find out their Exhibition groups. They got to know the members of their group by doing a community building activity where they had to hold balloons between them to race across the field. As you can see, they had a lot of fun!
